Why can't TV/The Media can't understand games?

I know this is a cringeworthy post/topic, But I've always been wondering why the media can't understand anything videogame related.

because they are disconnected from reality and use polls and whatnot probably or other usually skewed sources of information when it comes to games.

I drives me nuts too but I hardly watch TV anymore.

It's not that they cover those kinds of games; I mean if some people are into those games then whatever, I guess. It's more a question of why they always slander and demonize video games as a medium. Why are video games always depicted as a "waste of time" at best, and some kind of weapon at worst? Why is this mindless propaganda even a thing? I mean yeah, it should be obvious as to why (psst, it's the moneyyy) but it doesn't make me any less frustrated...

LOL. Even governments don't understand gamers. My government actually tried to ban Minecraft for being too violent.

Here is what they said: "Although the game can be seen as encouraging creativity in children by letting them build houses, farmlands and bridges, mobs must be killed in order to protect these structures. In short, the game is based on violence."

@_@ Don't people like you know.. hunt for food in reality. I'm pretty sure I have never seen chickens grown on trees "oh imagine a creeper tree though"  Off to the cow melons and pig grass! xD
