On the subject of sleep paralysis, I used to get it very often and it is in my opinion one of the worst things in the world.  Luckily, I don't get the hallucinations that are usually associated with it.  But it's still an extremely unsettling way to wake up.  It's become such an underlying fear of mine that I actually dream about getting sleep paralysis, so that when I wake up I'm not sure if I really had it or not.

On the actual topic of this thread... I don't think I'd be interested in meditation... not sure what the benefits are.

After I learned to enter sleep paralisis I had only one incident like that.  If you could move your body than it's probably something completely different.

I woke up in sleep paralisis in the middle of the night. I tried to get out of it as soon as possible. One technique that I know is to focus all of your will on moving just one of your limbs. It can even take up to about 30 seconds before it works. When you snap out of it get out of your bed, and wake yourself up. It's possible to slip right back into it if you just lay down and relax. I know because I got into sleep paralisis like 3 times that night.

The most important question is: were you paralised?

Not completely paralyzed but usually when I have that I am very close to immobile. It is pretty brief as well.
I very rarely have full sleep paralysis and those times were accidental.
When I am half asleep at my desk and just sort of subconsciously trying to finish stuff up I tend hallucinate randomly then too.
I don't normally talk about that stuff I don't want people thinking I am out of my mind. I can hold my own I can separate the unusually imposed hallucination from regular vision pretty well for the most part and that goes for auditory ones too.
I'll have a chunk of free time soon and may experiment some since I also want to find a way to get my self into some kind of sleep when I cannot stay asleep normally anyways.

-sleep meds =BAD I've done tried that-

I've always wanted to try meditation. Problem is I can't get any peace and calmness to last for more than an hour to actually try it out, so anybody interrupting me usually threw off my prior attempts.

Then that's definitely not sleep paralisis. From what I know lack of sleep can cause hallucinations in extreme cases. I had an episode in my life, more than half a year, when I had problems with sleep. Obviously I couldn't really meditate back then. My thoughts were constantly going, it was crazy. My record is 72 hours without any sleep. I had a job then, and was lucky I wasn't fired because I looked like a walking misery. On the other hand, I think I would be lucky if they fired me because that job was a nightmare. I quitted it myself later. I really didn't have any halucinations. Maybe some weird sparks when I closed my eyes. And of course, I was light-headed as hell.

EDIT:
At least I don't remember any serious hallucinations. Maybe I have experienced mild hallucinations, but nothing serious. I don't remember a lot from that time.

This article pretty much explains it: http://www.everydayhealth.com/conditions/what-happens-when-you-dont-sleep-days/

I experienced "blackouts" frequently. My former job wasn't something I would call safe. Fortunately everything went fine.

When I've stayed up long past 24 hours, I feel like my teeth begin to grow sore in some way, as if they feel like falling out. My senses tend to go numb if anything else, my eyesight is rather unfocused, and my throat is sore throughout the remaining time I stay awake. I constantly have to get a drink to keep myself in check, and my grasp of things becomes very awkward on most occasions. All in all, from what I can remember, the longest I've got without sleep is approximately 32 hours.

You don't need an hour to meditate, Brother Mighty! :O
Sometimes, even just five or one minute of meditation is better than nothing ;D

Eh yes definitely not normal I guess. I aim to attempt meditation to calm my messed up mind then or figure some things out. Which ever happens first I'll probably keep to my self about it for a long time until things can be comprehended clearly.

Hmm it's not that I stay up super long times I think I've only gone 48 hours because by then I was really dsyfunctional.

My issue is I sleep in really short intervals of about 30mins to 2 hours each time I sleep. I'll go from wide to absolutely must sleep now. Then not long later I am wide awake again. So I sleep once or twice a night and once in the day time as well.
I'm trying to stop that cycle and just get back to normal like how my sleep used to be when I was younger.

I can skip some of them too but eventually that will catch up to me so when I am really really reallly sleepy I'll take a weekend day and sleep a much longer period of time or force myself to stay asleep or atlest rest anyways.

Meh I've ranted to much about that sorry. I have my weird pattern figured out so I don't want people worrying about it too much.

That sleep issue may be because of adhd it may be because of some past issues I had but either way I intend to find my own way to deal with it so I'll be fine.

Meditation will be an interesting attempt this time around but as always I like to be cautious and thorough. On Alt ish things.

^Sleep disorders may be caused by "difficulties" in one's life. There was a reason why I had problems with sleep back then. It's hard to find a good therapist, but psychotherapy is definitely worth a shoot if you find a good specialist. Just some friendly advice.
