Favorite Klonoa Game

Personally, my favorite is Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil may arguably have better gameplay and more difficulty, as well as replay value, but there's something about Door to Phantomile that just feels magical and adventurous. I'm sure it's partially due to nostalgia and the heart wrenching ending, but overall I just have a preference for the first game. The Gameboy games are a lot of fun, but they really can't compete with the console Klonoa games, in my opinion. As for Heroes, I attempted to play it, but then quit after the second level to play another game, so I never have returned to it, so I can't really base an opinion on it.

I purposefully did not include Beach Volleyball, since I am fairly certain that nobody would vote for it. If I was incorrect, let me know in the comments.

What happened to it? Did you sell it, or did you lose it? I know several people who had games stolen from them by "friends."

I lost it I guess. Nowadays I sometimes look at videos of the game.

I find that I've always been drawn to Lunatea's Veil, mostly because it was the first time I've ever heard of Klonoa. I played the demo and I was hooked. I found myself playing the first game years later, after I played the GBA version of the games, but I love all of the Klonoa games. ;)

Aww, you haven't? You should give it a go. While they're not like the console games and a bit puzzle oriented, it's still fun and challenging in itself.  Perhaps I could do a longplay of the games?

I loved Door to Phantomile just as much as I loved Lunatea's Veil. The levels (especially for the time) were clever and fun while still being accessible enough for young newcomers to enjoy, the story was straightforward, yet had so many details left for speculation, and the ending was undoubtedly one of the most emotionally bittersweet. But I've always considered Klonoa 2 to be my favorite. It was the game that introduced me to such an amazing series, and I still have a lot of fun with it even after beating it over 20 times. The story was even more complex, especially if you play through after beating the first game, but it was still easy to follow. The level design was even better, adding a secondary mechanic to its levels, the hover board sections, which is an awesome way to break free from the platforming formula while also staying true to it. My favorite character of the series is (predictably) Klonoa, but I've always had a soft spot for Lolo. She's clumsy yet cheerful, but later shows to be deeply insecure of her own abilities, almost to the point where it haunts her. The moment that cements Lolo as one of the most lovable characters in gaming, is at the end, when she gives up her title so that she can earn her Priestess status on her own, which really proves her kind and selfless nature.
I can't really explain everything without dragging on, but there's just so much that I love about Lunatea's Veil, and I truly hold it as one of my favorite games of all time :)
It a me
