A whim I will always blame that for me doing these random things because I don't understand myself.
Here is a video of the PS1 version's Demo.
Also it still looks better in 720p and full screen.

I honestly had NO IDEA untill now that you could throw a moo at the bell during the Rongo Lango fight to get hearts. Oddly enough though, I was playing the bonus challenges on the Wiimake this morning and I missed a portal that was in an obvious spot, kinda like how you missed the person at the beginning of the demo.

I >_> oops I was looking too far ahead. Ah well it was the demo they don't count anyways. lives also reset when it switches to the next vision.
