Obviously it depends on the game, but in general I'd have to say I like some form of rock, sort of like in Stepping Wind, the Sonic Frontiers boss themes and some things like that. I like more intense songs because it gets me in a determined sort of mood, but obviously it depends on the game and the level/boss or situation. Also this is half-related but organs in video games songs are really amazing, they can create such an menacing aura that resonates with me and create an amazing atmosphere, like in Pokémon USUM's V.S. Ultra Necrozma theme. I could go on and on about what genres fit in games, and a bunch of random stuff about instruments and how they effect everything but i'm dead inside right now
oh! well personally I think that early 2000s rock was quite influential in games but I couldn't pick a single song for games as a whole. Hypnospace Outlaw has some great tracks for the feel of 90s web and I don't think it'd fit like klonoa or something :Pobligatory plug, is a trailer song for the game and lemme grab a different one.... and rock
I didn’t think many people knew of hypnospace outlaw, it’s one of my favorite games of all time! I’ve put way too many hours replaying, it’s so unique. The music is incredible, it’s been like 7 months since i last thought of HSO so thanks, maybe I should replay it again
HS:O rocks! sequel soon too
