Since Halloween is approaching, why not make a thread about stuff like this?

Share your horror-themed stuff that you have watched and played here. :)

When dark souls 1 throws little "you done screwed up" death surprises at me. Eh I really don't get into horror stuff but I like an atmosphere in a game that keeps me worried that the next corner around the wall has nothing but a giant trap behind it.

Sadly once I've played through the game a few times it loses that :c

I played through about 40 minutes of DeadSpace 1 and stopped because it was too stressful (on top of the stresses of college I couldn't handle it).

Game: DeadSpace Extraction (Wii U) great game for a single playthrough.

Game: AvP 2010 marine campaign. Kinda old and needs to be cut some slack

Movie: Dead Space Downfall. It's an alright movie.

Episode: Bushwhacked (Firefly S1 E3)

I don't like scary games, so Luigi's Mansion is the best game I can think of when it comes to a full spooky theme. Then again, it is a very good game. It's one of those games that doesn't really feel like any other game out there, not even the sequel really plays like it, it does a good job of making it feel like you are mostly alone despite not being an actual horror game at all.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you.
As long as you remember her, you are not alone.

I finally am able to play scary games without starting to panic just in time for Halloween, so I've been playing through a few of the ones I own. My personal favorites so far are Resident Evil: Code Veronica on Dreamcast and Silent Hill on PS1. It's not survival-horror, but I also am trying to finish Phantasmagoria on PC.

As for movies, the only horror movies I've ever really enjoyed have been the Scream movies.

I was a big fan of scary survival-horror-ish games in my early teens. My favs from the genre to this day are Haunting Ground and Rule of Rose.
Some others worth mentioning are: Fatal Frame, Silent Hill 1-4, Echo Night: Beyond, The Witch's House, Dreaming Mary, Ib (not nearly as scary as others on the list but it still counts) and probably some others I'm forgetting because I suck. Spooky's House of Jumpscares is also deceptively good (though it's on the sillier side.) I also, kind of, admittedly, like FNAF 1. It had good atmosphere if nothing else.

As for movies: Ju-On, The Ring, The Others, Cabin in the Woods, Oculus, Silence of the Lambs, and The Skeleton Key are some of my favorites (that I can remember off the top of my head)

Give me those spooks I just eat them up

Guess its time for me to make my list then.

Horror Games:
- Castlevania
- Resident Evil
- Silent Hill
- Aliens
- House of the Dead

Horror Movies:
- Dawn of the Dead
- Shaun of the Dead
- Resident Evil
- Evil Dead
- Dead Snow
- Silent Hill
- Land of the Dead
- Night of the Living Dead
- World War Z

You may have noticed that almost all of the movies I've watched are zombie movies. :)

You could say that I'm a sucker for zombie movies so that's why. ;)
