Klonoa GMS2 Fangame - Whispers of the Wind

Klonoa: WFTW is a fan game undergoing planning and is currently being worked on in GMS2 (Game Maker Studio 2), I am currently only working on the story, once it is finished I will begin full on in-game development. Things are going alright, I'm nearly done with the story and I'll begin work on the sprites and the actual game  :embarassed:

I'm thinking of a mix of normal 2D sprites and pre-rendered/2.5D visuals like DtP but I'm unsure. Should I go full 2D like the GBA games or go for a more DtP style?  :unsure:

Ideally, DTP style. I’ve missed that style for so long. But if it’s too hard, than GBA would be more economical.

I wanna go for a prerendered sprite style like DtP, even if it's kinda hard I wanna at least try.
That style really does just hit different.

I was planning to finish this game by the end of the year but looking at what I need to get done compared to what I already finished it does not look too likely. It's possible  :unsure: I could probably still meet my goal but at the current moment probably not.
